Breaking boundaries: New mobile healthcare solutions to tackle waiting lists, GP access, immunisation drives and more
Accessible healthcare, available when and where patients need it most, is one of the biggest challenges of our generation. Now, a powerful new solution from two expert providers in the global healthcare sector is set to change the landscape of how and where people access healthcare services.
Combining logistics, staffing, data and clinical expertise, the mobile healthcare solutions offering will see global healthcare delivery partner Acacium Group join forces with expert service provider RMI Global Solutions.
The capability and potential scale for the partnership is vast, with mobile healthcare solutions able to support with hospital backlogs, Accident and Emergency (A&E) waiting times, general practice (GP) capacity, school immunisation drives and even mobile physiotherapy units for occupational health needs.
Crucially, the mobile healthcare solution is a flexible model that can be deployed to even the most remote or inaccessible areas of the UK, thanks to RMI’s extensive experience with complex medical solutions deployment, from film sets in Los Angeles, to wind farms in the North Sea.
The service will be supported by the capacity and experience of Acacium Group, the UK’s largest healthcare delivery partner which deploys over 30,000 healthcare professionals globally every week.
Julian Rawles, Managing Director, UK of RMI commented: “The mobile clinical model has been proven to reduce pressure on local health services, cut down NHS waiting lists and improve engagement with healthcare services from remote and disengaged communities. Our partnership with Acacium Group is centred on one aim: how we can offer the public and independent sectors healthcare solutions at the point of need, no matter where that is.”
“RMI’s experience in delivering healthcare in complex and remote environments, partnered with Acacium Group’s capabilities in healthcare workforce deployment and delivery is unmatched. Through our partnership, we will be able to deliver a great service for which there is a significant and ever-growing need. Together we have the solution for healthcare providers to cut waiting lists, waiting times and achieve their strategic goals.”
Mike Barnard, CEO of Acacium Group added: “Acacium Group deploys over 30,000 healthcare professionals globally every week – our expertise in flexible staffing solutions has shown us how crucial it is to have a highly trained workforce who can be deployed to meet surges in demand. With pressure on healthcare providers seen across the system, having access to a service that is agile and capable of delivering expert healthcare solutions at scale is unique, and has the potential to change the way healthcare challenges are met.”
This partnership has a proven track record of delivering tremendous results, following an award-winning project delivered by RMI and Espirita, part of Acacium Group, on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) (UK Health Security Agency).
In 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, RMI and Acacium Group established a project team that delivered fully staffed state-of-the-art mobile COVID-19 testing laboratories staffed by 80 logistical and support staff and over 155 scientific and non-scientific staff, within a period of just eight weeks.
Clinical staff worked 135,440 hours throughout the course of the project and processed 110,409 samples at key events and during operational exercises. From these, 32,956 positive cases were identified, safeguarding the continued operation of key infrastructure organisations and government functions during the pandemic.
