Proclinical partners with Chinese pharmaceutical company to appoint a new senior clinical hire
Proclinical partnered with a Chinese pharmaceutical company with a diverse product pipeline focusing on developing treatments for cancer and other diseases to fulfil unmet medical need. The company, who are based close to our office in Shanghai, have several offices based across China and the US.
Our partner needed to appoint a new project development manager due to the current incumbent leaving after several years. The role was second-in-command to the head of operations, so ensuring consistency in the calibre of candidate was critical. We had previously placed another project development manager within the team and, because we had proved ourselves more than capable, were asked to oversee this requirement. The timelines were tight, with the current employee starting a three-month notice period and our client requesting at least one month’s overlap to facilitate a smooth handover. We also had to ensure that the replacement candidate was able to emulate the company culture and values embodied by the leaving employee.
Utilising our local teams, market knowledge and networking capabilities, we were quickly able to present our partner with a short list of suitable candidates. After just three weeks, we found an individual who was an ideal match and an offer was made.
Following this quick success, we were asked to help with several more senior leadership roles, including head of biostatistics and clinical data management director. The CMO continues to be delighted with our work, and we are proud to be their partner of choice.
