Acacium Group colleagues complete London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of Andy Tibbs

Last week, 15 colleagues from Acacium Group took part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, running 13.1 miles in memory of our much-missed colleague Andy Tibbs. Together, they raised over £9,000 in support of Meningitis Now, a charity that funds vital research and provides support for those affected by meningitis.

The run was organised as a tribute to our Group Business Development Director, Andy, who sadly passed away in April 2024. His sudden loss was deeply felt across the business and this challenge was a way for colleagues to come together and honour his memory in a meaningful and positive way.

Our team included experienced runners and those dusting off their trainers for the first time in a while! Completing a half marathon is a significant physical and mental achievement. We’re hugely proud of our team’s dedication and determination, with one colleague crossing the finish line with a broken hip!

Thanks go to the wider team who supported the event behind the scenes, including those who coordinated fundraising activities, the colleagues who came out to cheer on the day and those who kept everyone fuelled with cake. We were honoured to be joined by Andy’s wife and children, whose presence added extra meaning to the day.

We are incredibly grateful to Acacium Group and the team of runners for your hard work in supporting us by taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon. It’s clear to us how loved Andy was by his friends and colleagues, and this is such a lovely way to honour his memory. The money and awareness you have raised in the past few months will really help us to make a difference – thank you!

Morgan Fry, Fundraising Officer, Meningitis Now

Thanks to the generosity of our global colleagues, we are pleased to have far exceeded our initial fundraising goal. Donations will go directly to Meningitis Now to help raise awareness, support families and fund essential research. Final donations can still be made, so please do so if you can.

This event was a fitting tribute to a colleague who made a lasting impact on many. We are proud of everyone involved and grateful to all who donated and supported along the way.
