Creating opportunity through connection: Acacium Group launches global Women’s Network
Real connection creates real career opportunity
More than 50 colleagues have joined Acacium Group’s newly launched Women’s Network, creating a global community designed to strengthen connections, share expertise and create opportunities across the organisation.
Open to all women across the Group, the network brings together colleagues from our health and social care workforce, managed services and life sciences divisions, as well as our support functions around the world. By connecting people with different experiences, expertise and perspectives, the network creates opportunities to learn from one another and build relationships across the wider organisation.
The network was established by the Group’s Responsible Business network following feedback from colleagues who wanted more opportunities to connect beyond their immediate teams and business areas. It is designed around a simple belief: real connection creates real career opportunity.
Built by colleagues, for colleagues
The Women’s Network is intended to be shaped by the people who take part in it. Rather than following a fixed agenda, members are encouraged to bring ideas forward, share experiences and contribute their own expertise. Through a combination of virtual events, discussion groups and peer-to-peer connections, the network aims to create an environment where colleagues can build meaningful relationships, exchange knowledge and support one another.
Areas of focus include:
- Building connections across the organisation
- Sharing knowledge and expertise
- Creating opportunities for collaboration
- Supporting confidence and professional growth
- Encouraging mentorship, sponsorship and peer support
- Creating space for open and honest conversations
Importantly, the network is not only a place to seek support, but also a platform for colleagues to share expertise, create opportunities and champion one another.
Creating momentum from the start
The first network sessions took place in recent weeks, with colleagues already beginning to build new connections and bring ideas to the group.
One of the strongest themes emerging from members has been a desire to learn more about mentorship and sponsorship. To support this, the network’s next session will explore the role that advocacy, sponsorship and professional relationships can play in creating opportunities and supporting career development.
At the same time, colleagues have already started using the network to share their own knowledge and expertise.
Following the launch, a colleague based in the United States volunteered to share her expertise in artificial intelligence. Through connections made within the network, she is now collaborating with colleagues in the UK to deliver a future knowledge-sharing session for members.
These early examples reflect the type of community members want to create – one where colleagues actively support one another, share experiences, make introductions and create opportunities across the business.
Supporting inclusion, collaboration and growth
At Acacium Group, we are committed to creating an inclusive culture where people feel connected, supported and able to thrive.
Employee networks play an important role in helping colleagues build relationships and broaden their networks while creating opportunities for learning and development beyond day-to-day roles.
By bringing together colleagues from across our health and social care workforce, managed services and life sciences divisions, alongside support functions globally, the Women’s Network helps strengthen connections across the Group and encourages greater collaboration between teams, functions and geographies.
It also provides a platform for colleagues to share knowledge, showcase expertise and contribute to the wider organisation in new ways.
As the network continues to grow, its focus will remain simple: creating a space where women can support one another, share experiences, build meaningful relationships and create opportunities together.
A network shaped by its members
The Women’s Network is supported by co-chairs Charlotte Scott and Claire Wallace, alongside colleagues across the Group who are helping to shape future discussions, events and opportunities.
Charlotte Scott, Group Marketing Director, said:
“Throughout my career, I’ve benefited from brilliant women who challenged me, supported me and opened doors when I wasn’t always confident enough to push them open myself. Those relationships often outlast roles, teams and even organisations. This network isn’t about creating another corporate programme. It’s about creating opportunities for those connections to happen across Acacium Group and giving colleagues a space to support one another and share expertise. “
Claire Wallace, Group Communications Director & Responsible Business Lead said:
“A network is at its best when it brings together different perspectives. We’re already seeing colleagues making connections, sharing expertise and opening doors for each other, which was exactly what we hoped for. A community where people feel comfortable contributing, supporting one another and creating opportunities together.”
