National day for staff networks: How employees shape our culture 

The National Day for Staff Networks is dedicated to recognising employee resource groups and the value they add to the workplace. This year’s theme is #ReadyForChange so we thought we’d share how our employee networks have been a positive force in shaping our business and workplace culture. 

Race and Ethnicity Network (REN) 

REN exists to champion ethnic diversity across Acacium Group to help create a workplace where everyone can thrive. 

Key achievements: 

  • Supported the implementation of anonymous CVs to reduce bias in hiring 
  • Co-launched an underrepresented talent programme 
  • Partnered with NHS Blood and Transplant to increase diverse donor registrations 

EmBody 

EmBody exists to challenge stigma and build confidence around body and mind image by helping shape more inclusive narratives in both our workplace and marketing. 

Key achievements: 

  • Launched an internal podcast to amplify diverse body image voices and promote allyship 
  • Advocated for inclusive marketing through representative imagery 

Unity

Unity aims to drive LGBTQIA+ inclusion by creating safe spaces, influencing inclusive policy, and raising awareness of the issues those in the LGBTQIA+ community face.

Key achievements: 

  • Influenced inclusive people policies for the LGBTQIA+ community 
  • Shared educational content on pronouns and allyship 
  • Co-ran a month-long global Pride celebration, including participating in parades  

Unique 

Unique works to remove barriers and create an inclusive environment for people with disabilities and neurodiverse conditions. 

Key achievements: 

  • Helped Acacium Group achieved Disability Confident accreditation 
  • Expanded neurodiversity resources for colleagues, friends and families 

Menopeers 

Menopeers fosters understanding and support around menopause, a life stage often overlooked in workplace wellbeing, promoting a culture of openness and care across Acacium Group. 

Key achievements: 

  • Delivered 52 wellbeing workshops 
  • Co-authored a menopause section in our global wellbeing policy 
  • Launched “Walk and Listen” virtual sessions to connect colleagues globally 

Agenda 

Agenda focuses on removing barriers to gender equality across Acacium Group while shining a light on healthy work-life balance, especially for parents and carers. 

Key achievements: 

  • Helped revise maternity, paternity and hybrid working policies 
  • Supported Carer Positive accreditation 
  • Co-authored a month-long campaign on Women’s History Month International Women’s Day 

Women in Technology 

Acacium Group’s Women in Technology forum supports women across all stages of their tech careers. With more 81 members, including executive sponsors, male allies and tech professionals, the network drives gender diversity and leadership in tech. 

Key achievements: 

  • Expanding our Returnship Programme to support women re-entering the tech sector 
  • Raising more than £7,000 for Young Women’s Trust, for mentoring and coaching  
  • Hosting charity wellbeing events and career development sessions
